摘要
BACKGROUND: Synchronous primary tumors of the female genital tract are a relatively rare but well-established phenomenon. However, the occurrence of synchronous primary gynecologic malignancy coexisting with a nongynecologic malignancy is extremely rare. CASE: This report presents the pathological findings for a 63-year-old woman with multiple synchronous primary malignancies: high-grade serous carcinoma of the fallopian tube, high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion of the uterine cervix with microinvasive squamous cell carcinoma, and low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm. CONCLUSION: The patient received chemotherapy, and, to date, no relapse has been observed for 24 months after surgery. This paper presents the first documentation of a synchronous neoplasm of the female genital tract: high-grade serous adenocarcinoma of the fallopian tube with squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix coexisting with low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm.
