Synchrotron Radiation has been used to study many areas of medicine. from the atomic and molecular level, to chromosomes, cells and to applications in the clinical Fields, Like angiography, computed tomography, mammography. More recently the geometric monochromatic synchrotron beams permit to reach targets deeply located in the body (like brain tumours) and combining the efficacy obtained with the photoelectric effect and the Photon Activation Therapy (PAT), it is possible to kill, mostly selectively, the malignant cells. There are therefore possibilities in the future to use Synchrotron Radiation in Radiotherapy.
