摘要
The discrete element method is used to investigate the one-dimensional compression of a large number of particles. The method to simulate particle crushing is conducted through substituting the original particles for some small particles under certain principles, which avoid the use of agglomerates. The randomly chosen rule of the particles crushing is set for more realistic simulation. The Normal Compression Line (NCL) and Particle Size Distribution (PSD) are explored on the behaviour of the particles. The influence of the randomly crushing mechanism is also discussed.
