摘要
Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) have been recognized as a group of chemicals of emerging environmental concern. Results from previous studies have shown that PPCPs are among the most frequently detected anthropogenic contaminants in the environment. Following the reuse of animal waste, reclaimed wastewater and treated sewage sludge (biosolids), PPCPs can enter the terrestrial environment. However, little is known about their fate in receiving soils and particularly their uptake potential by agriculturally important plants. In this work, we review the available literature on this subject, propose future research needs, and discuss possible management practices that can help reduce PPCP plant uptake.
