摘要
Chronological changes of chromosome aberration rates (CAs) along with accumulated doses in exposed mice with a low dose rate of gamma-ray were studied. CA and micronuclei in spleen cells were observed serially in mice continuously irradiated at 20 mGy/day up to 400 days for 8 Gy. Unstable types of CA rates were rapidly increased at 1 Gy, while micronucleus incidence increased from 5 Gy. Over these doses, their increase rates were saturated. FISH analysis in spleen cells of mice exposed to 8 Gy had higher incidence of monosomy and trisomy than in non-exposed mice. The number of cells with 2-3 micronuclei out of 10,000 spleen cells is also higher in 5 to 8 Gy-exposed mice. These results indicate that prolonged gamma-ray-iffadiation at low dose rates of 20 mGy/day induces a delayed chromosome instability in mice. (c) 2004 Published by Elsevier B.V.
