DETERMINATION AND EVALUATION OF OIL CONTENT IN SOYBEAN SEEDS BY NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE METHODS AND SOXHLET

摘要
The aim of this study was to evaluate and select lineages of early soybeans on the yield potential and oil content for the production of biodiesel and correlate the nuclear magnetic resonance and Soxhlet methods in the analysis of oil content. Among the different sources of biomass, vegetal oils are a potential source of renewable resource for fuel production, turning into a viable alternative compared to diesel. It was evaluated 19 early maturity lineages in randomized blocks with 3 replicates and compared with 5 cultivars. The performance of each lineage was assessed by measurement of the following features: number of days to flowering (NDF), number of days to maturity (NDM), plant height (cm) at flowering (APF), plant height (cm) at maturity (APM), height of insertion of first pod (AIV), lodging (AC), oil content in grain expressed in percentage (%OL), grain yield (PG) and oil content yield (PO). From the levels obtained by two methods of extracting of oil it was done the analysis of correlation. The results showed the superiority of lineage UFU-106 on the yield and productivity of oil. Although the oil content of lineage UFU-101 has been high, the yield of this genotype was below the desirable performance. Concerning to the methods of extraction of oil, the results showed a negative correlation coefficient, indicating that there was no correlation between the two methods.
