Introducing CF 3: Arylboronic acid pinacol esters are converted into the corresponding benzotrifluorides with the easy-to-use one-component trifluoromethylating reagent potassium (trifluoromethyl)trimethoxyborate, mediated by copper acetate under an oxygen atmosphere (see scheme).
