摘要
This study describes the nanofinishing of cotton fabric using silver nanoparticles synthesized simultaneously in the presence of such a simple reducing agent. The silver nanoparticles are analyzed by scanning electron microscope image, which disclosed the attendance of silver nanoparticles on cotton fibers. The coated fabrics show antibacterial activity, which could render them of value in applications. Antibacterial tests against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria were accomplished and antibacterial activity was demonstrated for coated fabrics. The obtained results indicate that the antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticle-coated fabrics depends on the concentration of silver nitrate and of glucose monohydrate as reducing agent and on the processing time.
