Effect of time of sowing, spacing and fertility levels on growth and yield of rice bean (Vigna umbellata)

摘要
A field experiment was conducted during the rainy (kharif) season of 1993-95 to study the effect of time of sowing, spacing and fertility levels on growth, yield and nutrient uptake of rice bean [Vigna umbellata (Thunb.) Ohwi & Ohasi]. Sowing on 26 June favourably influenced the growth and yield attributes and was found optimum. Wider spacing of 40 cm x 10 cm was significantly superior to narrower one of 30 cm x 10 cm. Application of 30 kg N and 60 kg P2O5/ha increased the seed yield significantly over other fertility levels. The N and P uptake also followed the similar trend of grain yield.
