The carcinoid is a neuroendocrine neoplasm usually known as a tumor of gastrointestinal and bronchial tracts. The laryngeal carcinoid is a rare lesion. The authors describe the case of a 75-year-old woman with local pain on the right side of the larynx, radiating to the right ear, and dysphagia. Indirect laryngoscopy showed a nonulcerating supraglottic tumor. Treatment of the lesion consisted in endolaryngeal laser excision. Light microscopic and immunohistochemical investigations established the diagnosis of a submucosal carcinoid tumor of the larynx. Six months after surgery, there was no evidence of local recurrence.
