摘要
We propose a simple and fast method to measure the nonlinear coefficient (n(2)/A(eff)) in optical fibers based on the analytical modelling of the impact of self-phase modulation (SPM) on a coherently-received sinusoidal-modulated optical carrier. The method was numerically validated and the characterization of different types of optical fibers resulted in errors below 1%.
