Steroidal glycosides from the underground parts of Agapanthus inapertus and their cytotoxic activity

摘要
Phytochemical investigation of the underground parts of Agapanthus inapertus (Liliaceae) has resulted in the isolation of three new spirostanol glycosides (1, 3, and 4), along with a known spirostanol glycoside (2) and two known spirostanols (5 and 6). The structures of the new glycosides were determined by spectroscopic analysis and the results of hydrolytic cleavage. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against H.L-60 human promyelocytic leukemia cells.
