摘要
The Role of Job-Related Flexibility and Individual Values in Retaining Employees in the Modern Work Environment (Work 4.0) Abstract. In the modern work environment, new employment opportunities generally mean less frequently a long-term commitment to one company. Companies are responding with more flexibility to meet employees' wishes. Providing job-related flexibility reduces the intention to leave. Yet, it is important to differentiate between flextime and flexplace. Furthermore, stability and continuity values are playing increasingly important roles and may enhance the wish to stay. This study examines the potentially different relationships between flextime and flexplace and staying intention based on control and resource theories in two separate studies (N = 448 and N = 202), and furthermore whether these relationships can be confirmed under consideration of stability and continuity values. The results show that flextime and flexplace are related differently to staying intention: While flextime showed positive relationships, no relationships were discovered with flexplace. Thus, these values do not seem to be related to the staying intention.
