摘要：
Polyether derivatives of 9-anthryl ethanol undergo highly diastereoselective Diets-Alder additions with maleic anhydride and N-methyl maleimide. Addition of simple cations did not increase reaction rates or change the sense of selectivity through coordinative control induced by binding of the cation to the pendant polyether side-chain.
