摘要
The phenolic compounds are highly toxic and its biodegradation is very important to meet the environmental regulations. In the present study a mixed culture containing Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli have been employed for the degradation of phenol and a phenolic syntan. A complete degradation of phenol and the phenolic syntan has been observed employing the mixed microbial culture. Possible mechanism for the phenol degradation has also been proposed.
