Various methods for preparation of nanoparticles have been explained such as physical, chemical and green synthesis. Physical and chemical methods have several restrictions therefore, green synthesis got the attention over other methods as they are safe, clean and inexpensive so that the production can be scaled up easily. Since, nanoparticles from plants, microbes and biomolecules being cost effective, biodegradable, biocompatible, easily modified, continuously released into systems, reproducible and less toxic are used for the preparation and processing of new formulations at nano scale. Nanoparticles pre -pared through green synthesis got recognition by various research laboratories and scientists due to their applications in various fields like biomedicine, electronics, agriculture, cosmetics, textiles, etc. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
