An update on computational results for electronic models: The issue of pseudogaps in cuprates and phase separation in manganites

摘要
A brief summary of results obtained using computational techniques in the context of electronic models is provided. It is argued that the theoretically predicted photoemission spectra is compatible with the presence of a pseudogap, as observed in the experiments. New directions of research are discussed, including the development of reduced basis set algorithms, and the inclusion of realistic Coulomb interactions in the t-J model. Results for manganite models show phase separation between hole-rich ferromagnetic and hole-poor antiferromagnetic regions. The manganite normal state map he as interesting as recently observed in the cuprates with neutron scattering techniques. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
