摘要
Radiation damages to the kidney represent uncommonly reported toxicity, not because kidneys are radioresistant, but because clinical symptomatology is not specific and may not manifest for years after treatment. Nevertheless, late effects can result in considerable morbidity and mortality, in considering moderate dose of irradiation. Data on tolerance of the kidney to radiation therapy are reviewed here, early and late radiation-induced effects are described and dose recommendations are suggested for clinical practice.
