Tunable electrochemical synthesis of pyrrole-based adsorbents

摘要
Pyrrole-based adsorbents were developed electrochemically using systems: (i) pyrrole-potassium bromide, (ii) pyrrole-KBr-an anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate, and (iii) pyrrole-KBr-NaDS-Prussian blue. Growth kinetics and morphological studies were carried out at different experimental conditions. The study revealed the formation of nanosized particles, suitable for the removal of methylene blue as evident by high adsorption capacity = 447.7 mg g(-1). The effect of adsorption dosage, contact time, pH, and temperature on methylene blue removal has been studied. The data followed pseudo-second-order kinetic, Freundlich isotherm model and found to be endothermic and spontaneous in nature.
