(R)-(+)-[μ-2,2′-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1′-binaphthalene-κ2P: P′]bis[chlorido-gold(I)] dichloromethane solvate

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Au2Cl2(C44H32P2)]center dot CH2Cl2, the molecule is located on a twofold axis. The naphthyl group is slightly bent; the angle between the planes of the two six-membered rings is 3.5 (5)degrees. The angle between the mean planes of the two symmetry-related naphthyl groups is 84.4 (1)degrees. The P-Au-Cl group is almost linear, with an angle of 175.5(1)degrees. The dichloromethane solvent molecule lies on a twofold axis and connects the AuCl groups of two symmetry-related molecules via intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot Cl hydrogen bonding.
