The relation of nuclear physics with quadrupolar NMR interaction and high-resolution spectroscopy is discussed. The nuclear structure and spin, nucleus-electron interaction, quantum nucleus-electron interaction and the ionic model for electric field gradients, Sternheimer factor are also discussed. The appearance of spectra under the action of the quarupolar NMR Hamiltonian which include, first- and second-order effects, the nuclear quadrupole resonance, and cross-terms with the dipolar and chemical shift anisotropy interactions, are also discussed. The high-resolution techniques such as, double rotation, dynamic-angle spinning, multiple-quantum magic-angle spinning, and satellite transition magic-angle spinning.
