Neutron spectroscopy on lead slowing-down neutron spectrometer at university of lodz

摘要
The Lead Slowing-Down Neutron Spectrometer (LSNS) is based on a pulsed fast neutron generator using T(d,n)He-4 reaction. Deuterons from the Penning pulsed ion source are accelerated up to 180 keV. The neutrons are slowed-down in a 65 ton lead pile of size: 1,8 re 1,8 x 2,1 m(3). The time-energy calibration of the spectrometer has been obtained from data for neutron resonances in neutron energy range from 4.28 eV to 336 eV. The examples of the measurements with cobalt and tantalum samples are presented.
