Grain boundary wetting: Diffusion or non-diffusion mechanism

摘要
Experimental data and models for grain boundary wetting are reviewed. Two subtypes of non-Mullins liquid grooves are considered: fingers and edges. For the fingers the SIIS-model appears to be the most reasonable with sonic additions and with regard to faceting of liquid/solid interface. Stresses (drift effect) play the significant role in edges growth along with grain boundary selfdiffusion due to the imbalance of surface tensions.
