The harmonic magnetic field generated by the ground coils can cause vibration of the superconducting magnet, which must be reduced as it generates heat in the liquid helium temperature range. Therefore, it is important for the design of lighter magnets to exactly estimate the electromagnetic force on the superconducting magnet.
