摘要：

The nonferrous metals is a basic material and an important strategic material, which is essential for the national economy, our daily life, the defence industry and the development of science and technology, so how to promote the international competitiveness has been the most urgent issue. Experienced the challenges and tests of global financial crisis, this paper mainly discusses the current situation and existing problems of China's Nonferrous Metals Industry in 2008 and assess the international competitiveness by NXS, which ultimately show that the nonferrous metals industry is large but not strong, and its competitiveness is relatively weak in the international market. Then this paper makes several suggestions of improving policies and measures, when nonferrous metals industry faces with the international financial crisis.
