摘要
In this paper, hair as a keratin fibre was subjected to different straightening conditions. Various hair damage conditions in straightening process were simulated in order to investigate the effects of hair damages on their surface structures, colour differences, physical and chemical properties. It was indicated that different treatment conditions produced different degrees of hair damages because of the reduction of disulphide bonds on hair. After the straightening process, hair surface reflection increased but the corresponding strength decreased. However, when heat was applied onto hair pressing is too high, yellowing effect was resulted. Furthermore, the surface reflection was greatly affected by giving large colour difference when compared with the untreated hair.
