Have you ever heard the saying "garbage in, garbage out?" Using the proper technique for collecting and storing a urine sample can make a big difference in the reliability of test results. Mistakes that are made when a sample is collected, labeled, or stored can produce test results that are invalid or misleading, potentially resulting in an incorrect diagnosis and, therefore, inappropriate treatment.
