摘要：

The calculated tensile strains of different geosynthetic clay liners (GCL) at different settlement stages are discussed. The tensile strains are based on the observed deformation profile during all stages of the test. These values are observed to be on the higher side, in particular after attaining larger distortions. For each type of GCL, settlement increment, differential settlement, thickness of GCL and tensile strains are calculated using the thicknesses of the GCL from the laboratory swell tests. The tensile strains calculated for different types of GCLs are plotted against the curvature radius.
