摘要
In the years 1992-1995 we carried out the experimental laboratory investigations of nonstationary autoxidation of S(IV) in dilute aqueous solutions. This nonlinear process had been generally recognized as important yet poorly quantified path in transformation of atmospheric SO2 into S(VI). Our work was aimed at estimating new and refined rate constants for the component steps in the autoxidation, as well as setting up the appropriate mathematical model capable of reflecting the nonlinear behaviour of the process. The conclusions obtained generally indicated high impact of chain development on the overall process of autoxidation and allowed for reasonable definition of the future research work.
