Stability of hexagonal modification of fullerite C60

摘要
Stability of the hcp modification of fullerite C-60 under heating, compression, and mechanical grinding was studied. It was established that uniaxial load and mechanical grinding caused transition of the hcp modification into more stable fee modification, while no transition was observed upon heating or hydrostatic pressure. The results were discussed in terms of the theory of the deformation of solids. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
