摘要：

This paper tries to make a comparison based on the cost and time for manufacturing using traditional and alternative technologies. In both cases integrated CAD/CAM/CAE software was used in order to design and optimize the selected product. Virtual enterprises are constituted to facilitate lower cost and shorted time to market for industrial products. The product selected for this comparison is a simple product, a mounting flange for a robot motor.
