摘要
The aim of this study is to evaluate the delta C-13 and delta C-15 variability of megafauna and the large extinct fauna that lived in southern Patagonia during Pleistocene-Holocene transition. delta C-13 and delta C-15 values from bone collagen of Hippidion saldiasi, Mylodontidae, Lama gracilis and Lama guanlcoe from the AEP-1 site in Piedra Museo locality between ca. 12.8 and 9.2 ka BP are presented. These values are compared with the delta C-13 and delta C-15 values of Lama guanicoe of the Holocene from AEP-1 and Cave Maripe in order to evaluate the continuity and discontinuity of the isotopic values of this species during the Pleistocene-Holocene transition and Holocene. Finally, we discuss the implications of these values for the understanding of the human peopling of southern Patagonia and the interactions between the first Americans with the fauna and the environment.
