Broadband reflectarray with combination of cross and rectangle loop elements

摘要
A reflectarray antenna composed of a combination of cross and rectangle loops of variable size printed on a conductor-backed substrate is presented. Using this type of cell element, a wideband, single-layer reflectarray is fabricated and measured. The bandwidth performance of this reflectarray is comparable to the previously reported best figures for reflectarrays using stacked-patch cell elements. Measured results demonstrate a radiation efficiency close to 60% and a 1 dB gain bandwidth of 24%, centred at Ku-band.
