In this paper we will review a number of successful applications of neural. net techniques, tools and devices in the fields afferring to process control. These applications have been developed and tested by two Research Units (Ansaldo Ricerche and the R&D Dept. of Elsag Bailey) belonging to Finmeccanica S.p.A., one of largest industrial companies in Italy.
