"LAIC-LIBERAL CREED", LETTERS AND FORGETFULNESS BEHIND THE RELIGIOUS HISTORY OF DAVID PENA

One of the less known facets of David Pena (1862-1930) emerges here: that of an author in the religious history field, which he mainly carried out through a articles series that he published in the Buenos Aires newspaper La Prensa in 1923. His liberal and secularist ideas are developed throughout these writings that seek to combine, at the same time, the the historiographic job rules-already defined in the early '20- and a militant character that aims to illuminate and induce a change in the Argentine legislation. In the plot of this writing operation, intentions and influences are hidden, which the analysis of Pena's correspondence contributes to make evident.
