摘要
How to avoid construction enterprise MIS application failures? Currently there are wide-ranging debates. Some people considered that information technology is not mature and the conditions of construction enterprises are complex, these make the MIS application failures, people need to wait for. Some also expressed that since some construction enterprise MIS system applications have been successful, it could be said that it is the time to application and the wrong methods make the failures; if people use correct methods, they will success. Some people believe it is too expensive to realize the MIS application, small and medium-sized enterprises could not afford. Some think it is caused by a lack of relative professionals and etc. In this paper, the authors point out that practitioners ought to understand the nature of the problems more thoroughly and find the way to solve. There are too many ideas taken for granted when applying MIS. Generally corporate MIS application strategy can be divided as three kinds, these are input orientated (software application); process orientated (process reengineering); output orientated (performance), and the authors believe the last one is best. That means our application object is to provide the correct information to right person in right place at right time, and finally improve the corporate performance. People should apply knowledge transfer theory when analyzing the problems and this is also a good way for construction enterprises to improve the MIS application and for MIS service companies to improve the quality of products and services. If construction enterprises need some management knowledge that they don't have, they should emphasize tacit knowledge transfer work. They need to build effective mechanism to carry out the knowledge transfer work; they need to develop a variety of tools to improve the communication between the construction enterprises and MIS development companies. If construction enterprises do not need some information management knowledge, they should take effective methods to decrease the relative cost of in every MIS application phase, such as using Internet, outsourcing, renting IT equipments and etc, and finally they can improve the effects of MIS applications.
