摘要
The ways suggested to study work-arounds, make-work and kludges as an integral part of human-computer systems are discussed. Work-around is a method of overcoming a problem or limitation in a program or system. Kludge and work-around are related in that both originated because an alternate solution that is either more elegant or more appropriate is for some reason unavailable. Make-work activities are repetitive, boring, time-consuming activities that someone must engage in to accomplish something that could not be accomplished using a shortcut.
