A new consideration for provisioning survivable multicast sessions in WDM mesh networks

摘要
It has been widely recognized that it is of paramount importance to protect multicast connections against single link failure in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) mesh networks. In this paper, we introduce a novel consideration when provisioning survivable multicast sessions in WDMmesh networks. This consideration captures the average number of destination nodes that are affected by a single link failure. We propose two routing schemes that efficiently support the new consideration. We demonstrate by simulation the performance of the two routing schemes.
