摘要
The structural analysis and optimal design of a dynamic absorbing beam which is attached to the main beam with a viscoelastic layer or other mechanism of similar effect is presented. The dynamic stiffness matrix of a composite beam composed of two parallel beams with viscoelastic layer between them has already been derived and can be employed for the structural analysis. A simplified two-degree-of-freedom system is proposed for the optimal design of the dynamic absorbing beam. An example is included for demonstration and discussion. (C) 1998 Academic Press Limited.
