摘要
We have studied the magnetic properties of Ho2Co17-xSix compounds (x less than or equal to 3) by means of magnetic measurements and X-ray diffraction on magnetically aligned powders. The Curie temperature and the spontaneous moment decrease strongly with increasing Si concentration. We have constructed the magnetic phase diagram for the Ho2Co17-xSix system. The easy magnetization direction is parallel to the c-axis in an extended temperature region below the Curie temperature. A spin-reorientation transition takes place at lower temperatures, leading to an easy magnetization direction perpendicular to the c-axis. In the Ho2Co17 compound, the spin-reorientation transition occurs at 1005 K. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
