摘要
Postmodernism is still an appropriate frame for the discussions regarding contemporary literature. Revisiting the past and the configuration of a world that lies under the sign of the interim are defining characteristics of postmodernist fiction. The novels "Interim" written by the Romanian Gabriela Adamesteanu and "Wolf Hall" belonging to the British Hilary Mantel are two illustrative examples of the way in which these two are applied at the level of their prose. According to Virgil Nemoianu's latest theory, comparative literature, and literature in general, with its cultural values could be considered the pillars of stability in the chaos encapsulated in the postmodernist cultural movement.
