摘要
An attempt was made to produce a new nanocomposite biomaterial of magnetic crosslinked chitosan-tripolyphosphate/MgO/Fe3O4 (CTS-TPP/MgO/Fe3O4) as an adsorbent for the removal of reactive blue 19 (RB 19) dye from aqueous environment. The influence of the adsorption parameters such as A: CTS-TPP/MgO/Fe3O4 dosage, B: initial solution pH, C: process temperature, and D: contact time on RB 19 removal (%) was statistically optimized using the Box-Behnken design with a desirability function. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicates the significant interactions between AB and CD. The desirability function method was applied to identify the optimum adsorption condition of RB 19, and the maximum RB 19 removal (70.8%) was recorded at CTS-TPP/MgO/Fe(3)O(4)dosage = 0.1 g, initial solution pH = 4.3, process temperature = 30 degrees C, and contact time = 30 min. The kinetic and equilibrium study indicates that the adsorption process is consistent with the pseudo-second-order model and the Freundlich isotherm model, respectively. The maximum adsorption capacity of CTS-TPP/MgO/Fe3O4 towards RB 19 was calculated from the Langmuir isotherm model as 120.3 mg/g for the above-mentioned optimum conditions. Thus, this research work introduces a new, efficient, and environment-friendly magnetic organic/inorganic biocomposite adsorbent that can be easily collected from treated solution with an external magnetic field.
