摘要
A ternary compound UCu5In has been found as a result of X-ray analysis of alloys formed at 870 K in the U-Cu-In system, in the region with high Cu-content. Single-crystal measurements showed that this compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic CeCu5Au-type structure being a ternary ordered variant of the CeCu6-type (space group Pnma). The refined structure parameters are a=8.226(3) Angstrom, b=5.0020(5) Angstrom, c=10.542(1) Angstrom, V=433.8(2) Angstrom(3), Z=4. The crystal structure of stoichiometric and ordered phase of UCu5In was refined to R equal to 0.0378 for 262 \F\ values and 41 variables. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
