Education in eastern and south-eastern European countries

Eastern Europe (like the soviet model)was getting close to the program Education for all. The author stress the results of such a system as established by international enquiries. He argues that the end of the single party system should have led to a "de-ideologization" of teaching without losing those gains. But the rupture with the former regime, under the pressure of European Union and of corporate globalisation produced a real wartime type of cataclysm where education played the role of "collateral victim" submitted to a new "ideological imperialism".
