摘要
The article presents the review of the publication of archival diary by Professor of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences Jacob von Shtelin (1709-1785), dedicated to the upcoming 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, carried out by G.I. Smagina. Yacob von Shtelin is known as the author of the "Notes" on the development of fine arts in Russia, "Authentic anecdotes from the life of Peter the Great...", as well as "Notes" about Emperor Peter III. Shtelin served at the Imperial Academy of Sciences and Arts from 1735 to 1785, holding the position of Professor of eloquence and poetry, as well as serving as an adviser to the Academic Chancellery (1757-1766) and conference secretary (1765-1769). Shtelin's diary reflects the events of academic history, the reform of the management of the Academy of Sciences and the development of art chambers. The diary has been translated into Russian for the first time and is accompanied by extensive comments.
