摘要
This paper presents an experimental development of a High-density clear completion fluid (HDCF) using a Magnesium bromide salt and water. The HDCF has emerged as viable completion fluid options for High deep pressure and High Temperature (HP/HT) wells such as pressure more than 10,000 psia, Temperature higher than 350-degree Fahrenheit and pore pressure gradient of more than 0.8 psia/feet. As the world's energy demand increase, more and more wells are being drilled and completed in a hostile environment such as HP/HT area. To maximize the completion program for HP/HT well, Designing of a stable solid free completion fluid is in hot demand nowadays. We report experimental results for different ranges of temperature and Pressure and density and analyze the rheological properties through detailed analyses. These solid free clear HDCF have dissolved magnesium bromide salt in a mass of water, and they don't have inert solids. Our study of HDFC is vital because of for applications in HP/HT wells across the world (e.g. KG basins of India). Formulated fluid have unique dual purpose of providing sufficient overbalance hydrostatic pressure due to its high density and also essentially non- damaging to production zone and various completion equipment such as tubing's, packers, subsurface valves due to its solid free in nature. This unique combination of properties will maintain rheological stability at HP/HT conditions and also satisfy environmental requirements. This HDCF shows utilization in various work over type operation where formation protection is a significant concern because of sold plugging of near-wellbore area.
