摘要
Decision-making is the individual or group's purposeful activity, subject to the choice of a variety of well-defined steps to solve the problem and thus the choice of an optimal solution. We could say that every person comes to decision every day, whether in a private or working life, to solve even a small problem. Decision-making in private life affects mostly an individual or a smaller group of people making up a family. On the other hand, in the case of decision-making in working life, the decision may affect ten to hundreds of employees and, consequently, their families. Everyone who makes the decision should expect the possibilities that may arise as a result of his decision. As part of the job position, senior employees are performing more important and important decisions resulting from their job descriptions. It is important to be aware of the fact that some of the consequences of our decisions may not affect us immediately, but this can happen with time. This is especially the case with top managers who need to be able to read and analyse each issue thoroughly, regardless of size or seriousness. In recent years, we have seen the trend that top managers of major corporations include security managers. Their work is very different, unique and specific. The consequences of their decisions are influenced by a large number of employees, and the result of a security manager's decision affects the level, quality of security in organizations. Within it, to protect employees, i.e. persons, property of the organization and, last but not least, the environment in which the organization is located. The Security Manager should be aware of the importance of his decision, having the appropriate and rigorous decision-making powers. His interest should be directed towards the education of objective, not subjective, decision making to achieve the required level of organization security. Knowledge of object-oriented decision-making is not a matter of course for the security manager and should, in his own interest, gain the greatest possible insight into the field of analysis. Knowing the decision-making methods of the operational analysis increases the probability of a correct decision in case of a problem. However, choosing the optimal method is highly subjective and depends on the experience of the individual security manager. The aim of the paper will be to highlight the security manager's specifications and the security manager's work focusing on the decision-making skills and skills of the security manager. Consequently, we focus on the basics of decision-making methods of operational analysis and pointing to the most commonly used among security managers. In choosing and summarizing, we will build on the knowledge gained from personal interviews with leading security managers operating in Slovak and foreign organizations.
