Chiral 2,2':6',2":6",2"-quaterpyridines bearing fused chiral groups in the 5,6- and 5",6"-positions preferentially form structurally characterised P or M dinuclear double helicates in approximate to 99% diastereomeric excess upon coordination to copper(I). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
