摘要
An original method based on acoustic emission measurements was developed to determine sub-critical growth rates in glass fibers. From the tensile testing of fiber bundles, it was possible to accumulate a great number of strength and lifetime data under quasi-static and static fatigue loading. The statistical nature of the distribution of fibers defects within a single bundle allowed generating v/K1 curve with a limited number of experiments.
