摘要
Currently, exercising democratic citizenship is a relevant issue in the formation of the human being; There is a marked reality about the attitude and behavior of school students in relation to their daily actions, we find among them characteristics such as passivity, lack of autonomy for decision-making, fear of participation in school, little development of their democratic capacity for the exercise of duties and rights. The purpose of this article is to know the weaknesses and strengths of the development of democratic citizenship training in schools, as well as to analyze, interpret and identify the studies carried out on democratic citizenship training; Likewise, as part of the methodology, a search was carried out for articles indexed in the various databases, such as SCOPUS and SCIELO; from which a total of 20 articles published in recent years were selected. It is concluded that, the formation of democratic citizenship in students must be strengthened in order to develop higher-order capacities and where commitment and social responsibility prevail and that guarantees education in and for life.
